Shown below are three typical displays you'll see in the latest version of the scoring system. As riders are scanned at the scoring area, the system will instantly compute their class standing and output the results on the display (located just ahead of them), showing their rider number, their class position, and the time between them and the rider (in the same class) just ahead of them.
Everyone should keep in mind that while the system computes the riders position on a real-time basis during the race, the results being displayed are unofficial, with the results not becoming "official" until all protests are filed at the conclusion of the protest period, prior to handing out trophies.
For size purposes, the display is roughly 4 feet wide, by approx 8 inches tall.
Shown immediately below is a display showing rider number 894, riding in the 200 "C" class, currently the class leader (obviously)

Shown immediately below is a display showing rider number 145, riding in the 200 "B" class, in 2nd place, 25 seconds behind the number 1 rider (in this case). The time will always represent the time to the next guy ahead, in the same class.

Shown below is a display showing rider 456, reflecting that he's an "unknown" rider - or one not registered for the event. This could happen if a barcode is read incorrectly, or if a rider (with a barcode) hasn't been entered into the rider registration database. For this reason, it's to the every riders benefit to know their rider number / barcode number, so they don't leave the scoring area until their number is read properly (assuming they're not one of the late riders). This is also what prevents the standings being displayed on the scoreboard from being "official". Normally you'll not see something like this, (assuming no late rider registration), and the official class standings will be the same as what the rider saw the last time he went through the scoring area. This will be a rare display.
